About AARF

Alaskan Animal Rescue Friends (AARF) is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation based in Anchorage dedicated to helping the dogs of Alaska. Our all-volunteer crew rescues, rehabilitates, and adopts dogs into loving furever homes throughout Alaska.

Our physical office is located at 521 W 41st Ave, Unit D & E and is only open on adoption clinic days (typically Sundays). The dogs do not stay at this facility during the week—we rely on foster homes and boarding kennels to house the dogs and puppies until they’ve found a home.  Our mailing address is 2440 E Tudor Rd. #105, Anchorage Alaska 99507.

Most dogs and puppies come to AARF from bush communities through other rescue organizations and partners, but we also take in dogs from local animal control facilities, owner releases, neglect, medical cases, and occasionally from high kill shelters in the lower 48.

Here is the list of many of the communities we have helped either on our own or as a joint effort. Thousands of dogs have been saved and adopted into loving homes over the past 10+ years through our amazing partnerships.
