Alaskan Animal Rescue Friends

Alaskan Animal Rescue Friends ( AARF) is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation. AARF is a group of dedicated volunteers working to help the dogs of Alaska. We rescue, rehabilitate, and adopt dogs into loving homes. Most of our dogs come to AARF from bush communities through other rescue organizations such as Bethel Friends of Canines but we also take in dogs from local animal control facilities, owner releases, and neglect and medical cases.

Here is the list of every community we have helped either on our own or as a joint effort. Over 2000 dogs have been saved and adopted into loving homes by this amazing partnership.

We do not have our own facility and rely heavily on foster homes and boarding kennels to house the many dogs we take in.

A BIG THANK YOU to our supporters!   Everts Air Cargo,  PenAir Cargo, and NAC for helping ship animals in need from the bush into Anchorage!!! We could not help the animals we do without your assistance!

I want to highlight and send A BIG THANK YOU to our sponsor La Mex and Doggie Dog World for their tireless support for our organization.  Without support from our sponsors we cannot fulfill our mission.

Since 1969 La Mex has been serving the finest Mexican food in Alaska—from a humble beginning in a log cabin in Mt. View, to the fun and family-friendly dining establishment you have come to know and love.

We  at Doggie Dog World want our Doggies to enjoy their day to the fullest.  We have 2 large play packs with indoor and outdoor areas. We will assess your woofie’s temperament and place them in the pack they will be most comfortable and have other Woofie friends that match their temperament, and play style, giving them the most benefit from their day. Whether you have a rambunctious Woofie with high energy, or an older Woofie that needs socialization and company while you are at work, we have the perfect play group for them!
